The Final Approach Restaurant and Pub opened to the public on Monday, Feb. 22 with a new menu, new schedule and new proprietor.
Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray was on hand just before lunchtime to conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the restaurant. Joining the mayor for the occasion were Final Approach Manager Greg Dean and Dixie Chopper President/CEO Gary A. Morgan.
Located in the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport on Greencastle’s East Side, The Final Approach now offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu and a seven-day-a-week schedule.
The restaurant’s hours of operation are 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 6:30 a.m.-10 pm. Friday and Saturday; and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday.
New manager Dean, a Greencastle native and a former assistant in the Dixie Chopper Marketing Department, is now in charge of the restaurant and Business Center. He has helped create a new menu of old favorites, comfort foods and fine dining opportunities.
For example, dinner entrees include chicken, pasta and pork options; baby back ribs; steaks (filet mignon, New York strip, flat iron and chopped); and seafood (Atlantic salmon, catfish fillets and a signature Seafood Trio dish that features grilled salmon, crab cake and jumbo shrimp).
Final Approach lunch options include soups and salads, and a variety of burgers, sandwiches and wraps.
Breakfast fare includes eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, French toast, omelets and made-to-order breakfast sandwiches. A breakfast buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday only.
“We will also have daily specials,” Dean said. “Come check things out at the new Final Approach.”
